Washi Dress finished

Well I am back from an amazing 3 weeks away.  I loved New York City.  Such an energetic, vibrant city. I can see why people say it is the city that never sleeps. A week on Maui was a nice wind down after the franticness of NYC.  Anyway I will blog more about my holiday in my next post.

I totally forgot to link up for A Lovely Year of Finishes for the end of September.  I finished my Washi dress in time to take with me on my trip and wore it a couple of times while I was away.

I found the instructions very clear and easy to follow.  I did find it useful to make a muslin beforehand as I ended up resizing what I thought I would be.  I ended up making a size smaller.  I had never done shirring before but Rae gives very good instructions on it.  It was quite fun to do.

I made a full lining for the dress as well using a very thin, soft fabric.  Again, I found these instructions on Rae's website.  Love the dress and will definitely be making another one.
